From first through eighth grade, Bay School students benefit from a well-rounded and developmentally sequenced program in the areas of the arts, music, movement, and foreign language. Students have two periods of instruction in each specialty subject per week. Each specialty subject has its own Grade 1-8 scope and sequence, with both content and method of instruction advancing over time to meet the children as they progress through the grades. These specialty classes, combined with the children’s meaningful relationships with these teachers, are integral to the care so many perceive here. The specialty faculty are experts in their fields, beloved by the children both for their warmth of character and for their exceptional teaching. Indeed, specialty classes are a highlight of many a Bay Schooler’s day. Seen as a whole, a Bay School education is so much the richer for the devotion and lifelong lessons brought by these vital teachers.
