The Bay School is a private Waldorf Independent school located on an 70-acre campus in beautiful Blue Hill, Maine. Our PreK, Kindergarten, Elementary, and Middle School programs serve students ages three through 8th Grade. We also offer Parent/Child classes for families with infants, young toddlers, and older toddlers up to age three.
The Bay School was founded in 1980 by Jan Emlen who wanted to offer a holistic education by integrating the intellectual, artistic, and imaginative nature of children, as well as a reverence for the natural world, across all areas of learning. Our Educational Support program helps students with all types of learning styles to flourish in our community of learners.
Students travel to the Bay School from as many as fifteen towns, including the Blue Hill Peninsula. A regular morning and afternoon bus service connects those students from Downeast traveling through Ellsworth, Maine.
